CHDI Foundation, Inc.

CHDI is a private, non-profit foundation that works with scientists around the world toward the development of treatments for Huntington’s disease (HD). HD is a rare genetic neurodegenerative disease. Despite having identified the gene mutation that causes the disease twenty years ago, scientists and clinicians are still struggling to understand this fatal disease. There is no cure and few treatments for the motor, cognitive, and affective symptoms of HD. CHDI periodically hosts Workshops with around twenty participants to discuss progress and future directions in HD research. Since 2008, I have covered these two-day, freestyle discussions and compiled Workshop Reports that summarize their findings.
